T R E D I C I

Our aim is to perform some of the finest sacred music ever written to the highest
standards and strive to allow our audience to hear us, as far as possible, without
having to buy a ticket
Tredici is resident at the church of St Giles-in-the-Fields in Holborn. Our association with this beautiful 1734 Henry Flitcroft-designed church dates back to the choir’s formation, in 2004, when Richard Thomas was invited to assemble a group of singers for the Leprosy Mission's carol service. There were 13 singers at that first event – hence the name.
Over the past 20 years the choir's membership has evolved into the current group of around 35 - all of whom are experienced singers drawn from a variety of leading London choirs including the Philharmonia Chorus, BBC Symphony Chorus and London Symphony Chorus.
Tredici has performed over 100 concerts in central London churches, mainly a cappella as well as with organ. We have also performed with orchestras in such works as Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass, Bach's Mass in B minor, Handel's Dixit Dominus and Requiems by Brahms, Biber and Duruflé. In April 2025, for our 20th Anniversary Concert, we will perform Bach's St John Passion.
Our wide repertoire encompasses sacred music from the 16th to the 21st centuries and past concerts have featured masterpieces by such renowned composers as Monteverdi, de Padilla, Guerrero, Victoria, Tallis, Purcell, and Byrd through to Howells, Rachmaninov, Britten, Tavener and MacMillan.
We rehearse on Monday lunchtimes, for about an hour, but still strive to perform at near-professional standards and our ever-growing audience is testament to this achievement.
